I’m bored, procrastinating, and struck by a random, Martel-esque inspiration: so here’s the first in a series of posts about singers who are ugly but have beautiful voices. Or at least, people who look different than they sound. The paradigmatic case: Shane MacGowan. (If you want to hear him being really beautiful, listen to “Fairytale of New York,” but I’d feel like a poseur and a sap posting that, so here’s some other song that’s not even off either of the two good albums.)
